Eric considers himself a “recovering banker” of 15 years, who for the past eleven years has focused his efforts as a digital strategist, helping his clients (mostly community banks) better understand and leverage the power of the Internet as a strategic business tool. An award-winning web designer with WSI, the world’s largest digital agency network, Eric is a two-time contributing author to the best-selling book Digital Minds – 12 Things Every Business Needs to Know About Digital Marketing. Consistently rated in the top five digital marketing books on Amazon, the book is in its second edition and available in three languages.

A sought-after, nationally-recognized speaker in the financial services industry, Eric is a member of the National Speakers Association and loves sharing his knowledge to help educate and inspire others. He is the co-creator of a weekly webinar show called Free Webinar Wednesdays, founder of the Banker Education Series webinar series, and serves as a faculty member at several banking schools around the country where he teaches bankers about digital strategy, online marketing and social media. He is a WSI Certified LinkedIn Professional and holds undergraduate degrees in business administration and psychology. While working full-time as a community banker, Eric earned his MBA and completed the three-year Graduate School of Banking program in Madison, WI in 2003.

Professionally, Eric helps his clients in all areas of digital marketing, which includes mobile-responsive web development, search engine marketing and optimization, social media strategies, e-mail communication, and “big-picture” digital strategic planning. He’s the co-founder of DigitalRCP.com, a service created to help businesses understand their risk when it comes to operating in today’s digital world. When he’s not helping his clients succeed online, he can typically be found on one of his many bicycles training for his next mountain bike/triathlon race or spending time with his wife and two (very spoiled) golden retrievers.

Summary:

I'm excited to announce the launch of a brand new service called The LinkedBanker! This program has been on my mind for a number of years. If you’re a banker and interested in becoming a part of the program, I’d like to take a moment and let you know what you can expect from this amazing program, forum, and community that we’ve created.

I started The LinkedBanker because I saw the struggle bankers had when it came to effectively using social media and leveraging online tools and strategies to build their personal brand online. Lets face it, banking has been around for forever and there are a lot of rooted traditions and perspectives on how to build relationships. It can be difficult to adopt and take advantage of the ever changing world of online, not to mention the compliance issues, privacy issues and security issues. 

It's no wonder that the online space has been pretty scary for bankers in the past. I wanted to create this safe space - a supportive community - filled with expertise and guidance to help you not only help your clients and serve your customers better, but also to help YOU - your personal brand and your career growth. There is no other community like this, and I feel strongly there is a significant need for one. 

Your experience within The LinkedBanker community will give you specific steps you can use online to build your brand and establish relationships that lead to new, longer-term and more profitable customers. I want to reduce your overwhelm anytime you wonder, what should I be doing and when should I be doing it. You no longer have to figure it all out on your own. 

I have a 15-year background in banking, which means all of the tips and advice I'm sharing in the community is specifically for bankers. This helps to ensure the steps you take in your social media efforts, building your personal brand, and connecting with your customers and clients will all still be in alignment with compliance, security and the culture of your bank.

I'm looking forward to watching this forum grow and evolve because let's face it, the Internet is going to always continue to grow and evolve and we all need to stay on top of things. Rather than feeling like you're having to play catch up or feeling like you have to do everything all at once, I'm here and this community is here to help you stay ahead of the curve. Finally I plan to make the online space not only effective and lucrative for you, but also to make it pretty dang fun!
